Overview
We are looking to hire a Finance and Control Manager for our client in the hospitality and fashion industry. The Finance and Control Manager will oversee the organization’s financial operations by efficiently distributing financial resources and providing strategic advice that is profitable to the organisation.
Responsibilities
Develop a robust financial strategy and metrics tied to the overall corporate strategy and direction that will drive sustainable growth.
Support the sales and production teams to understand financial/accounting implications of transactions and other matters by providing technical accounting guidance.
Research and advice on complex accounting issues
Work closely with management to pro-actively identify and manage financial risks and opportunities.
Develop effective strategies and methods for minimizing financial risk to the business.
Determine the financial strategy of the organization.
Ensure total oversight of all finance activities and documentation, and ensure that accounting and financial systems for planning, managing, and reporting are efficient, consistent, user-friendly, aligned with local statutory policies, laws, and regulations.
Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with tax authorities, auditors, banks, insurance officers, investment community and other service providers
Maintain accurate and updated financial documentation including but not limited to financial statements, payroll information, tax information, bank details etc.
Develop and consolidate business processes and accounting policies, strategies, and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Continuously track the financial status and performance of the business to identify areas that require improvement.
Conduct periodic audits of budget items, comparing budget-to-actual expenses.
Prepare and execute budget, enforcing strict budget compliance.
Ensure that the organization is tax compliant.
Drive cost-control initiatives
Approve and decline procurements requests as required.
Maintain all loans and payables of the organization.
Accurately interpret government policies and regulations
Prepare financial models and advise for future investments.
Accurate monitoring and review of inventory reports and performance
Ensure that insurance payments are appropriated and up to date.
Determine the liquidity ratio of the organization per time.
Ensure accuracy of all financial information
Ensure that the organization’s financial documents are protected and kept confidential.
Work with Head of Product and Strategy to determine costing and pricing policies.
Provide insightful financial information and analysis to the Managing Director/CEO to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
Pro-actively identify revenue and income leakages and develop tactical measures of correction.
Operate and run efficient and effective book closing and internal control processes and procedures.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and annual inventory analysis reports.
Interpret financial reports and report finance status and Key metrics to the management team.
Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Educational & Experience
M.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other accounting related field
Professional accounting qualification e.g., ACA, ACCA
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience with at least 3 years in managerial position in finance.
Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, tact, discretion, initiative, and sound judgement.
Must demonstrate a high level of creativity in solving complex problems.
Must be willing to work long hours and be very responsive when situations require this.
Must have the ability to manage the flow of people and business, liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders for maximum efficiency.

Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, best practices, and policies
Astute business acumen- financial and commercial knowledge
Sound knowledge of finance related regulations and risk management practices
Ability to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and river positive change.
Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance (PAYE, PENSION, VAT, Organization’s Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax)
Good knowledge of statutory and regulatory laws
Advanced proficiency in Ms. Office Suite or related software, as well as budget creation and analysis software
Ability to interpret financial records and reports.
Ability to draw up monthly, quarterly, and annual budget.
Ability to read, compare and interpret figures and data accurately.
