Job Title: Senior Banking Officer - Commercial Banking

Locations: Nasarawa, Plateau, and Zamfara

Job Brief

• By focusing on quality new loan origination, fee income creation, deposit generation, and customer relationship building of both new and existing customers, this job is responsible for developing, managing, and servicing smaller to midsize business connections.
• The position is in charge of producing an adequate amount of profit for the bank while achieving predetermined monthly and annual targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Actively seeks out new business by reaching out to potential clients, making business connections, cold phoning, etc.
• Accountable for promptly identifying and detecting troubled loans.
• Regularly keeps an eye on the repayment and overdraft behavior of their own portfolio of clients.
• Creates and carries out exercise programs to keep an eye on risk.
• Suggests a workout schedule to the committee (s)
• Facilitates the sale of assets at a price that is most advantageous to the bank, as well as repossession, business liquidation, and foreclosure.
• Reports on the status of the watch and classified assets are given to the chief credit officer every three months.
• Engaging via telephone or written correspondence, maintaining the current business portfolio, and improving client connections, tofix issues aboutaccount errors, improperly applied payments, non-posted deposits, and overdraft concerns.
• By approving checks and service charge refunds, resolving customer complaints, examining overdrafts, signing cashier's checks, and validating large deposit items, among other things, you can head other departments of the bank. gives direction to other employees within the department.
• Creates new business deposit relationships while marketing merchant cards, cash management services, and other fee-based goods.
• Suggests branch banking to business owners and employees.
• Participates in professional and community events, builds networks with regional business associations, and develops new business opportunities to support the bank's intended growth.
• Assumes a leadership position both within and externally for the bank.
• Maintains a high degree of knowledge about banking regulations and compliance; educates and trains oneself in new job-related fields by formal education, independent research, and reading of trade periodicals.
• Preserves the confidentiality and security of all operating records.
• Inform the supervisor of any shady behavior or weak security

Job Specifications

• Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with 7-10 years experience.
• Financial statement analysis background with proven credit skills including analysis, documentation, and structure
• Possess a strong knowledge of the Banking sector and procedures
• Credit Risk Management
• Strong sales and negotiation skills
• Solid oral and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• PC skills including word processing and spreadsheets
• Maintains a high level of knowledge of bank operations, products and services, and regulatory and statutory requirements
• Strong leadership abilities to provide guidance to subordinates
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Strong attention to detail
• Maintains detailed knowledge of legal and regulatory banking compliance in order to properly complete the duties of the position.
