Spud Consultancy & Services was established in response to the need in Nigeria for indigenous experienced and credible engineering and consultancy services that can provide excellent advice and technical services to the oil and gas sectors. We maintain a range of diverse services that include and not limited to project engineering, oil field, and well production optimization services, operations and maintenance services, procurement, and general oil and gas services. We offer specialized services in project management and general engineering, OCTG, offshore vessels, access control, and equipment procurement & lease services.

Job Title: Chief Technological Officer (CTO) / Engineering Manager

Job Description
Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the technology strategy: You will be responsible for creating a technology roadmap and executing it to develop a scalable, reliable, and secure SaaS platform.
• Lead the engineering team: You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to succeed.
• Manage projects: You will manage the projects that your team is working on, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
• Set goals and priorities: You will work with your team to set goals and priorities for their work, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's overall strategy.
• Mentor and develop team members: You will work closely with your team members to identify areas for improvement and provide them with the guidance and support they need to develop their skills.
• Collaborate with other teams: You will work closely with the product team, customer success, and sales team to ensure that the technology aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
• Hire and onboard new team members: You will be responsible for hiring new engineers and onboarding them into the team.
• Ensure data security: You will be responsible for ensuring the platform is secure, and customer data is protected from any potential threats.
• Stay current with industry trends: You will stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends in the Oil & Gas industry and incorporate them into the platform. (plus point).

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field: You should have a Degree in Computer Science or a related field to have a strong foundation in software engineering principles.
• Experience in developing and managing SaaS platforms: You should have experience in developing and managing SaaS platforms, including managing a team of developers.
• Strong technical skills: You should have a strong technical background in software engineering, database architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strategic thinking: You should be able to think strategically and develop long-term plans for the platform's growth and success.
• Strong communication skills: You should have excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with other teams and stakeholders.
• Leadership skills: You should be a strong leader who can motivate and inspire the engineering team to achieve their goals.
• Project management skills: You should have experience in managing projects and ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
• Experience in people management: You should have experience in managing people, including hiring, mentoring, and developing team members.
• Experience with Oil & Gas industry: You should have a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and the specific needs of the sector. (plus point).
