Job Title: Tax Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file tax returns accurately and timely.
• Conduct tax research and analysis for clients to identify and recommend tax savings opportunities.
• Monitor and maintain the tax filing calendar to ensure that all required tax filings are submitted timely and accurately.
• Develop, implement and maintain tax compliance policies and procedures for the company.
• Review and reconcile tax accounts and resolve tax issues with tax authorities as needed.
• Provide tax planning advice to clients to help them minimize their tax liabilities.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess the impact of these changes on clients' tax positions.
• Respond to tax inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional Certification is a must. ICAN, CPA, etc.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax accounting, including experience with tax planning, tax compliance, and tax research.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
