This time, our client in the Hospitality Industry is looking for Personal Assistant to provide personalized secretarial and administrative support in a well-organized and timely manner. You will work on a one-to-one basis on a variety of tasks related to manager’s working life and communication.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Internal Control Manager

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Internal Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the retail fashion brand/boutiques maintain an effective and efficient internal control environment.
  • The role involves identifying, assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the company's financial and operational risks, and implementing appropriate internal controls and compliance procedures to mitigate these risks.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with other departments within the company to identify and address areas of concern and ensure the company's continued success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audit and control checks of departments and units
  • Ensure regular inventory checks are conducted on all stock control records
  • Review and vet financial transactions and payments of invoices on the company's accounting software
  • Perform call over on payments made by Finance Department
  • Develop and implement internal control policies, procedures, and guidelines by industry best practices, and line with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Review and assess the effectiveness of internal control procedures, identify areas of improvement, and make recommendations for changes as necessary.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments of the company's operations, financial processes, and systems, and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Provide training and support to employees on internal control policies and procedures, ensuring awareness and compliance.
  • Monitor compliance with internal control policies and procedures, identify and investigate any breaches, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that internal controls are integrated into daily operations and to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and operational information.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure that all internal control requirements are met, and assist with the preparation of audit reports.
  • Stay up to date with relevant industry and regulatory changes, and implement necessary changes to internal controls as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • CPA or CIA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in internal control, audit, or finance.
  • Experience in the retail industry, preferably in the fashion sector, is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control standards, financial and operational risks, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other departments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working with financial and accounting software.

Remuneration
N200,000 Monthly.
