National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) Recruitment Disclaimer

Posted on Wed 18th Mar, 2015 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (8 comments)

The attention of the National Assembly Service Commission has been drawn to alleged Activities of some fraudsters who pose as 'agents' of Government ministries, Departments and agencies (MDAs) with the wicked intention of tricking job seekers to Part with their hard earned monies on the pretext of giving them non-existent jobs in Such MDAs.

Employment Racketeering: NASC not part of it!
We are particularly appauled by the current circulation of text messages (sms) purportedly informing unsuspecting job seekers of ‘the success of their Application for employment with the national assembly service commission' and Requesting them to bring original transcripts and awards for verification and Screening not later than 19-03-15.

The national assembly service commission as a responsible public institution, hereby warns the general public not to patronise any person/s purporting to be or have been engaged for any recruitment exercise on its behalf for the national assembly service.

The national assembly service commission wishes to inform the public that the Commission is the only body in Nigeria legally empowered to appoint, discipline and entertain the appeals of staff of the national assembly service (See the NAS Act 2014).

For the avoidance of doubt, the commission wishes to emphasis that when there are vacancies to be filled:
  • The commission discharges these responsibilities directly and does not and has not engaged anybody, group of people or consultants to carry out any employment exercise on its behalf,
  • The commission follows a laid down procedure for recruitment, which is in line with public service rules,
  • The commission publishes the vacancies in at least three national newspapers and calls for applications from interested qualified candidates,
  • The commission collects and collates the applications within the specified period of notice (usually six weeks),
  • The commission then publishes in three national newspapers the list of shortlisted candidates invited for written aptitude tests,
  • Afterwards, candidates who scaled the aptitude tests are invited for the final stage (oral interviews),
  • And lastly, those that are successful at this stage are given employment letters as staff of the national assembly service.
  • The office complex of the commission is domiciled at Plot 664 T.O.S. Benson Crescent, Off Ngozi Okonjo-iweala Way, Utako District, not the fake address quoted by the fraudsters.
  • The commission is not aware of the so-called servicom hotline the fraudsters are asking their preys to call.
In view of the above explanations, the commission wishes to warn that any person/s patronising any one purporting to be recruiting on its behalf is doing so at his/her own risk.
