We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Import Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Collaborate with the Import Manager to coordinate end-to-end import-related activities.
• Ensure timely costing of consignments into stock
• Process Form ‘M’ and Letter of Credit for every importation
• Review and confirm shipping documents from suppliers.
• Liaise with the banks to facilitate the issuance of PAAR
• Follow up with relevant units/stakeholders to ensure prompt delivery of the shipment
• Computation and payment of Customs duty
• Maintain up-to-date filing and retrieval of all shipping documents/transactions
• Attend to queries to ensure prompt custom clearance of the shipment
• Interface with Divisional Heads and vendors to update shipping transaction report
• Manage the company’s warehousing and logistics teams, and provide day-to-day leadership, management, and guidance.
• Interface with government agencies including the Department of Customs and Excise
• Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Managing Director.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all shipping documents including documents that may be required for Insurance & or Warranty Claims.
• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the Import Manager from time to time.

Requirements

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a similar field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field
• Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
• A self-motivated, self-confident individual who is comfortable operating with minimal direction and thrives in a dynamic environment.
