Job Title: Legal Officer

Job Competency Requirement

• Ability to collaborate with Contract, Procurement, and other departments to effectively achieve the company's contractual and business objectives and create preliminary versions of contracts and letters.
• Ability to assist the departments and the tender unit in the ongoing management of existing and new contracts, including providing guidance on contractual rights and obligations to Contract, Procurement, and other departments.
• Ability to offer internal advisory services to business units and departments within the company.
• Ability to provide advice on corporate legal issues and business matters, and preparing legal opinions, memoranda, and other briefing documents.
• Ability to prepare optimal legal solutions through a thorough analysis of legal problems and draft a wide range of legal agreements and deliver commercial legal support to all departmental projects and job functions.
• Ability to review legal materials and other relevant documents to identify and prioritize critical issues.
• Ability to conduct legal analysis and research on various legal matters, including the interpretation and implications of laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
• Ability to manage case files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date summaries, secure maintenance of litigation files, and organization of records and documents required for legal proceedings.
• Performing other related duties as required.

Job Qualification & Skills Required

• LL.B, Licensed to practice law from the Bar Association (B.L) with a minimum of four (4) years of corporate in-house counsel. MSC in Law (LLM) or a related discipline is recommended.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance issues and versatile in corporate law, legal drafting, litigation, arbitration proceedings and special skill in vetting contracts and international agreements.
• Excellent knowledge of the laws and regulations guiding the Oil and gas industry and must be a team player, self-motivated and multi-task oriented.
