Job Title: Garment Cutter

Location: Magodo, Lagos

Job Description

• Review patterns, design specifications, and fabric requirements to determine the most efficient cutting layout.
• Lay out fabric according to patterns, ensuring accurate alignment and minimizing fabric wastage.
• Use cutting tools such as shears, rotary cutters, or automated cutting machines to cut fabrics and materials with precision.
• Follow designated cutting lines and markings to ensure accurate and consistent cuts.
• Monitor and maintain cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Inspect cut pieces for any defects or inconsistencies and make necessary adjustments.
• Organize and sort cut pieces for efficient assembly and sewing operations.
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of garments.
• Adhere to quality standards and specifications to maintain consistency and meet customer expectations.
• Maintain a clean and organized cutting area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to garment cutting.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess an OND qualification with 4 - 9 years work experience.
• Proven experience as a Garment Cutter or similar role in the fashion industry.
• Strong knowledge of garment cutting techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting patterns and design specifications.
• Excellent understanding of fabric types, grainlines, and pattern layouts.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet production deadlines.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle fabrics and cutting tools.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work assignments.

Salary
N100,000 - N130,000 monthly
