Job Title: Associate Professor, Software Engineering
Location: Adamawa
Expected Starting Date: August 2023
Summary
The post-holder will be required to instruct courses, both introductory and advanced levels, including advanced courses related to his or her area of expertise.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Software Engineering and an established, or potential to establish record of excellence in teaching, research and service.
Candidates should possess a strong record of academic publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals commensurate with career stage
Job Description
The successful candidates will teach courses in Software Engineering at introductory and advanced levels
Conduct research and publish papers in rigorous peer-reviewed journals.
Promote the department’s research and scholarly activities by presenting research findings in seminars and conferences.
Supervise research projects, tutor and mentor students.
Lead or be part of other committees aimed at promoting research, curriculum development, staff welfare etc.
Contribute to AUN’s community service and development.
Other duties as assigned by the Chair or the Dean.
Person Specification
Hold a PhD Degree in Software Engineering
Have at least three years of work experience in higher education after obtaining a PhD – as a teacher and/or researcher
Have a proven record of academic publications in good journals and/or reputable international conferences in computing.
Prior teaching experience in a graduate or undergraduate program and corporate training is expected
Ability and experience teaching across disciplines (e.g. Computer science, software engineering, Information systems.) is a plus.
Industry experience is a MUST
Experience in the American educational system is a plus.
