Glorywings (GW) Consulting - Our client, Markus Synergy Integrated is a new medium sized farm situated at Akim Akim Odukpani LGA, Cross Rivers State. The farm has a feeds production plant, Cattle, Goats and a Poultry with new and modern machinery and equipment for optimal feed production. The farm currently has a Chairman/ CEO, the GM, the Farm Manager, the Sales and transport Officer and two farmhands. There are plans to employ a herder and a part time farm hand when production increases. From time to time the farm employs day workers as needed. There are plans to expand the farm in the next one year to include 10 acres of cultivated fields to service the production of animal feeds. The farm has associated business concerns that are located in different parts of the country.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Web Designer / Administration Officer

Location: Akim Akim, Odukpani, Cross River
Employment Type: Full-time
Direct Report: CEO and MD with daily contacts with the farm Manager

Summary

  • This position requires a person with strong graphic, web design, e-marketing and administrative capabilities with ability to use the entire Microsoft suite. Knowledge of accounting and HR management will be a plus or a displayed passion to learn. The officer is responsible for web and content design, e-marketing and administrative functions on the farm.
  • Added responsibilities could include oversight of all cashiering, accounting and human resources management when required. This position comes with a studio en-suite accommodation.
  • Current Youth Corpers or just graduated Youth Corpers who meet the requirements stated in this job description are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
Website, Content Designer and e-Marketing functions:

  • Produce website ideas and concepts and create websites and launch in a live environment. Have original and creative user-friendly notions in mind to make the sites comprehensible and attractive at the same time. Ability to establish, monitor and maintain information technology Systems is an added advantage.
  • Designs, develops and launches websites as envisioned and directed from scratch.
  • Maintains and updates the websites are required.
  • Proactively and actively manages the e-marketing of all products. Makes the company’s social media pages vibrant and maintains a continuous public presence.
  • Maintains the company’s server space and develops security levels to prevent it from attack.
  • Ensures that all anti-virus on all systems used in the farm and associated companies are up to date.
  • Creates new and unique website concepts to execute.
  • Ensures all websites are created with a user-friendly interface.
  • Creates storyboards, sitemaps, and process flow charts to explain design ideas.
  • Undertakes aggressive e-marketing of products.
  • Creates an e-based pictorial library of the farm and associated companies’ products.

Administrative Functions:

  • Documents all transactions on the farm.
  • Develops and stores staff e-files.
  • Develops spread sheets, produce word documents and Power Point Presentations when required.
  • Presents the design ideas and concepts to colleagues, clients, and executives.
  • Keeps in touch with the best practices and continuously learns for professional and personal development.
  • Develops accounting and financial management systems and reports and prepares budgets and financial reports for management’s consideration and approvals.
  • Creates daily and periodic cost statements and maintain general ledgers.
  • Compiles and controls, monthly reports and expenditure against budgets.
  • Prepares account reconciliations and payroll journal entries.
  • Prepares daily, monthly and annual financial reports and analysis related to the farm operations.
  • Deals with VAT and tax returns and stays on top of general administrative duties.
  • Vets quotes and invoices obtained by the office for machinery and other purchases.
  • Undertakes any other duties that may be assigned.

Supervises:

  • This position has not direct supervisory responsibilities, but will assist the Farm Manager as required in managing staff. The position will also deputize for the farm manager.

Person Specification

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Visual Communication, Electronic Media, Graphic Design, Computer Interaction or other subjects related to the field.
  • 1 - 3 years work experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, with advance Excel skills and Web Design); with ability to manage an inventory, basic accounting software (or the willingness to learn) and ability to manage and maintain the company website.
  • Knowledge of Internet software.
  • Inherent leadership skills and the ability to inspire confidence in client base.
  • Team player who will exceed assigned responsibilities.
  • Native intellectual curiosity and mental stamina.
  • Ability to project and explain the consequences of actions taken.
  • Maintain excellent on-going working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and partners, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing.
  • Ability to be humble and learn on the job and quickly adapt and apply emerging knowledge to improve farm yields.

Requirements:

  • First-hand experience with website designing and development.
  • Prior experience as a web designer with a medium to strong portfolio.
  • Excellent at using Adobe tools like Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and WI reframing tools.
  • Prior experience in creating storyboards, sitemaps, process flows and WI reframing.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, Java scripts.
  • Knowledge of administration processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting or the willingness to learn basic accounting will be an added advantage.
  • Creative thinker not afraid to explore and innovate.
  • Good problem solving, multitasking and time management skills
  • Has an inquisitive mind; keeps up with best practices and trends.
  • Able to travel as required by the job.
