The Inventory / Purchasing Officer for a Fashion & Printing Organisationis responsible for managing the inventory and procurement activities related to the production of customizable apparel.
This person will oversee the stock levels, coordinate with suppliers, ensure timely procurement of materials, and maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
Additionally, candidate will monitor the production schedule and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer demands.
Responsibilities
Manage inventory control systems for customizable apparel, including tracking stock levels, item descriptions, and locations.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, fabrics, trims, and other components needed for customization.
Monitor the production schedule and collaborate with production teams to align inventory levels with customer demands.
Conduct regular physical inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and address any inventory-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, such as goods receipts, material issuances, and stock adjustments.
Implement and maintain inventory management software tailored to the customizable apparel business.
Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate pricing and contracts, and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Collaborate with the design and sales teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels to fulfill customer orders.
Analyze inventory data to identify slow-moving items, excess stock, and potential shortages.
Implement process improvements to optimize inventory control, streamline purchasing procedures, and reduce lead times.

Inventory Accuracy: Measure the accuracy of inventory records by comparing physical counts to system records.

Requirements
Candidates should possess an HND, PGCE, or Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years experience
Solid understanding of inventory management principles, particularly in the context of customizable apparel production.
Knowledge of sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for raw materials, fabrics, trims, and other components.
Familiarity with customizable apparel production processes, including order customization, batch production, and lead time considerations.
Proficiency in using inventory management software and systems, preferably customized for the apparel industry.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze inventory-related data.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to inventory and purchasing transactions.
Strong negotiation and communication skills to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Ability to conduct physical inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and address inventory-related issues promptly.
Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet production schedules.
