Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
Qualifications
B.Sc in Accounting or Accountancy
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Masters Degree is an advantage
Chattered Accountant preferred
Must reside on the Island
Responsibilities
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
Lead the financial department with witty ideas to aid swift and quality operations and delivery of tasks
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Document records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
Present trustworthy reverts and after-sales support.
Recruit and Tutor entry level staff into valuable salespersons.
Additional controller duties as necessary
Any other assignments from the Boss.
Requirements and Skills
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures relating to real estate industry is a must
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
Experience in customer support is a key skill.
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PropTech and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
Proficiency in English
Deep real estate sector knowledge is crucial.
Time management and planning skills
Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports.
Making especial efforts to ensure that sales' records and management accounting information are regularly reconciled.
Must be teachable, trainable and generally open to learning regardless of the source of knowledge, while with the same token have the capacity to pass on knowledge to subordinates in a kind manner.

Remuneration
Competitive industrial remuneration, in the region N400,000 Monthly (negotiable, with the key being the ability to deliver on job mandates and results).
