Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Responsibility Summary
The Chief Finance Officer will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and budget and forecasts preparation.
The finance officer’s responsibilities will also include tax management and administration, performance management and conducting of cost and revenues analyses.
Financial Reporting and Budgeting:
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management account for management and regulators.
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Support the preparation of the corporate annual report.
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
Provide for a system of management cost reports.
Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Ensure that financial reports comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Publish complete and timely financial statements to company executives, shareholders, and the board.
Recommend benchmarks for the measurement of company financial performance goals.
Responsible for the filing of quarterly and annual reports with regulatory bodies.
Management Accounting and Transaction:
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Support accounting operations of the company and its subsidiaries
Ensure that account payables are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
Ensure that account receivables are collected promptly
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts and manage GL for accuracy
Management of tax- VAT, WHT, PAYE. Liaise with the company’s tax consultant, auditor and regulators for efficient tax management
Advise and liaise with Operations on transaction postings to ensure that the correct GL are credited or debited
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
Treasury and Financial Management:
Examine and recommend appropriate investment and portfolio management strategies for the Group through robust investment analysis and execution of approved investment proposal.
Prepare and update investment schedule and ensure posting of appropriate accounting entries for the investments immediately upon execution.
Maintain and improve knowledge of all financial products available that align with NFG investment policy.
Ensure NFG’s investments are always maintained in line with the approved investment policies.
Stay abreast of all changes and developments in the investment space, especially as it relates to impact on investment holdings.
Foster strong relationships with banks and all relevant financial institutions
Monitor cash balances with banks and NFG’s investment holdings across all asset classes.
Prepare reports on investible cash, investment holdings and their ROIs.
Develop and implement optimal cash and liquidity management strategies for the Group
Continuously assess financial information on all asset classes, evaluate various investment opportunities.
Present proposals on investment opportunities and maintain record of related analysis
Ensure investment TAT
Prepare annual investment budget
Ensure Management/Board decisions with respect to investments are implemented quickly and efficiently
Develop and maintain relationships with all external stakeholders (regulators etc) relevant to the investment process.
Prepare and present periodic investment reports to Management, ALCO, and board on a timely basis.
Compliance:
Provide regulatory reports to compliance for the rendition.
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit.
Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Ensure full compliance with all applicable CBN rules, regulations, and country laws.
Calculation of tax remittances due to and due from the business
Tracking and collation of tax assets of the business.
Requirements
Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 8 - 15 years relevant work experience.
