Job Objective

• We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our logistics company.
• As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing financial transactions, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the company's financial health and decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reports.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and analysis, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance reports.
• Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Payroll Processing: Coordinate and process payroll activities, including employee salary disbursement, tax deductions, and benefits administration.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual financial performance against budgeted targets and provide insights on variations.
• Auditing: Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and reports as requested.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
• Cost Control: Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and efficiency of logistics operations.
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulations relevant to the logistics industry. Ensure compliance with relevant financial laws and guidelines.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred.
• 5 - 10 years work experience.
• Experience: Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry. Experience with logistics cost accounting and inventory management is a plus.
• Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
• Financial Software: Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights.
• Time Management: Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Communication: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ethics: High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial transactions.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 (Monthly Gross).
