We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: QA / QC Officer

Location: Lekki Free Zone, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overall Purpose of Job

• To ensure that manufactured products are in line with relevant standards and internal control standards. Check raw materials, parts, and entire products that are being processed in the Valve Assembly Plant.
• Ensure tests are run, records of defects are kept, products are analysed and overseeing procedures so that each product measures up to the company’s standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that all quality control procedures and standards are followed.
• Implementing corrective actions to address any issues with repaired or defective valves.
• Maintaining a documentation and records of quality control activities.
• Staying updated on industry standards and regulations related to valve manufacturing.
• Preparing documents for valves calibration and test. Keeping equipment traceability record.
• Selecting a random sample of valves and check them carefully using special gauges.
• Check work orders or blueprints to make sure products are up to company standards.
• Note problems in products reject them when necessary and sort them according to the kind of defect. Send products for repair/fix minor problems.
• Record the results of inspections, compute the proportion of products that are defective, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with the Plant and Engineering managers to determine the cause of recurring defects.
• Conduct product tests and assessment using appropriate test methods, checking that specifications are met, and that the product works as intended.
• Identify product defects or potential issues and determining what to do to resolve the issue.
• Record and report issues to help identify and eliminate recurring problems and provide a paper trail to aid in accountability and error reporting. Provide the reports to supervisors / plant manager to help them make decisions about manufacturing processes and practices.
• Support process improvements throughout the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure that products are produced consistently, and that defects or other errors will not persist throughout the manufacturing process.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to actualize API 6D recommendations.

Required Person / Competency Specification

• Holds a Diploma / B.Sc in a Science discipline.
• Knowledge of valves test; Isolation and safety.
• At least 3 years cognate QAQC experience.
• Demonstrable knowledge of test certificates preparation.
• Sound knowledge of API 6D
• Sound knowledge of Valves surface preparation process.
• Sound knowledge of pressure safety valve certificate.
• Idea of NDT
• Sound computer skills
• HSE Levels 1& 3
• Six Sigma knowledge.
• Proven experience of working with minimum supervision.
• Attention to detail to ensure effective assessment and analysis.
• Sound oral and written communication skill.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
