Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor

Objective
The Kitchen Supervisor has managerial responsibility for planning and supervising all food service activities in school.
This role involves implementing specifications and standards to maintain quality control and efficient operation of the school’s food service programThey must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking.
Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. The goal is to have most students/parents patronize the school’s food services.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and supervising all food service activities at the company.
Maintaining efficient operation of the kitchen and quality control of all meals produced in the kitchen which includes Wellsprings residents’ breakfast and dinner meals, all school lunch and all snacks.
Develop menu plans for the school based on nutritional adequacy within budget.
Forecasts and place food orders and material required for all meals. Orders should cover a two week period.
Monitor compliance with standard food preparation and service procedures, including the use of standardized recipes, portion control, presentation and quality of food ingredients.
Participate in taste testing and evaluation of new products, recipes and methods of preparation.
Responsible for conducting weekly (on Mondays) cooking training for food service staff on new recipes and proper cooking and sanitation standards.
Ensure staff maintain clean, well-organized storage areas, including freezers, refrigerators and dry storage areas.
Conducts meetings for all kitchen staff as needed and recommend changes in job assignment when necessary.
Make recommendations for new products and equipment needs as required for the kitchen.
Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with approved receiving, storage, distribution and inventory procedures of all food and supplies.
Interacts and cooperatively with the accounts department and other units that they liaise with.
Performs related special assignments as required.
Job Specification
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree with 4-5 years experience.
Meals are made round the clock, hence the supervisor has to work in a rotational structure to be present to supervise production of meals with at breakfast & lunch or lunch and dinner. There will be one day off in a week.
Must be able to organize own work routines, the roster of the kitchen team. The individual must ensure menu item availability to avoid delay in food production and minimize waste.
Ensure all individuals functioning in the kitchen use head covers and apron and observe required hygiene standards
Ensure compliance of all hygiene rules in preparing and serving of food.
Conduct annual survey feedback from students, analyze report and present to management Recommendations should be used to enhance snacks and meals offered by the kitchen.
Perform other tasks assigned by the school leadership

Knowledge of various cooking procedures, methods and recipe (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
The individual must be: conversant with using Microsoft excel and bale to perform basic book keeping skills required for the role
Child friendly, and an understand the role is cater for the food needs of the company students
Able to suggest new and cheaper ways to provide variety of snacks and meals, which are healthy for children
Highly organized, methodical and conscious of saving costs
Able to follow all sanitation procedures
