Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (RC 638640), is one of the eleven successor distribution companies of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN). Kaduna Electric, a registered trademark of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, is licensed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to distribute and retail electricity within a service coverage area of Northwestern-most of Nigeria. It has its Headquarters in Kaduna, with offices in Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States.

Kaduna Electric is looking to employ young, vibrant professionals to fill the position below in the Information and Communication Technology department:

Job Title: Senior Officer, System and Network Administrator

Job Summary

• Provide system and network support to staff at various units and departments across the organization.
• To ensure network and service availability to all users on KADUNA ELECTRIC's. Install, configure, support and monitor KADUNA ELECTRIC's network, website performance, and perform needed upgrades and systems maintenance.
• Support the Unit head to plan for disaster and backup contingencies, and to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and other network problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain ICT network infrastructure and data communication systems, and ensure network security.
• Configure and maintain email and other business support applications on user’s systems.
• Continuous evaluation and recommend network technologies that will allow KADUNA ELECTRIC to achieve its business and technological goals.
• Implement / update all of the appropriate processes and procedures to ensure KADUNA ELECTRIC's network is running at an optimum level.
• Manage all communication systems, routers, switches, mobile devices, firewalls and network security, patching and licenses, and vendor management to ensure a high-level of uptime and proper level of data security.
• Assist in providing training and support to ICT infrastructure end users
• Manage and implement network infrastructures and network security and support the network administration within Kaduna Electric.
• Ensure optimal network uptime and recommend network specifications for new and existing infrastructure
• Perform regular maintenance procedures and ensure the necessary security measures are taken
• Contributing to and maintain system standards
• Carry out other duties as may be assigned.

Competency and Skill Requirements

• Knowledge of Technical support, Systems and Network Administration processes and procedures
• Ability to working at set deadlines under pressure with limited resources
• Working innovatively to employ and deploy systems and network administration technologies
• Ability to effectively provision network security services to protect KADUNA ELECTRIC's ICT infrastructure
• Ability to adhere to Network management best practices

Experience and Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any IT technical and Engineering related field
• Acquisition of Masters in IT Networks and Systems Management or related field
• MBA will also be added advantage
• 3 - 7 years' work experience involving managing and administering ICT systems and networks within large corporate organizations
• ICT technical support experience
• Three years supervisory experience
• Extensive experience with Systems and Network administration in energy utilities
• Preferred Certification in the following will be an added advantage Certifications such as Comptia A+, MCP, MSCE, Network+, CISCO, CCNA, CCNP, OS Certifications (Windows/Linux/Unix/Mac etc.).
