Job Description
Material Requirements Planning:
Stock is to be managed within working capital targets.
Ensure regular update and maintenance of MRP Master Data.
Ensure planning parameters and information on MOQ, Lot size, shipping and clearance lead-times are updated in SAP.
Ensure the integrity of Material Forecasts generated by ERP and work closely with suppliers to ensure supply capacity and reliability.
Communicate with suppliers on material requirement forecasts on an ongoing basis and ensure purchase orders are issued to suppliers within the agreed lead-time and lot sizes.
Establish material requirements to meet Production Plans with the use of MRP Planned Orders and ensure that all MRP orders are based on the latest production plans.
Work closely with Supply Planning to ensure production plans are met timeously and ensuring that supply constraints are built into the forward plans.
Establish and maintain appropriate safety stock levels for materials and highlight material constraints that could impact production plans.
Key Deliverables
Operational Effectiveness:
Working Capital:
Use appropriate tools and Inventory Planning Models to determine safety stock targets.
Manage call offs to suppliers in a manner that meets both working capital targets and cash flow needs
Identify opportunities to reduce stock in transit values through reduced lead times and improved INCO terms.
Conduct monthly analysis of full working capital portfolio and identify the key drivers and opportunities for stock day reduction.
Managing slow and obsolete R&PM and ensure that provisions are raised timeously and ensure prompt write-offs.
Projects / Innovations:
Manage materials availability for innovation, launches, re-launches, SKU rationalisation, projects by working closely with Supply Planning to ensure that all plans are optimized and run out schedules are accurately maintained to ensure write-offs are minimised.
Manage work-off plan for packaging and raw materials for projects and ensure that material write off risks are identified, and that write-off provisions are included in project plans.
Liaise with R&D on all new packaging and raw material items.
Provide timeous write off documentation and ensure that all materials are disposed of accurately and that these are correctly removed from the SAP system.
Organizational Effectiveness:
Compile and issue all relevant reports and information as required.
Support the team of material planners on site; ensure a consolidated approach on key initiatives and ensure support is available for resolution of endemic system or other issues preventing the team from operating at their full capacity.
Work closely with Supply Planning team in providing necessary information and maintain necessary records to enable proper control of inventory and prices
Generate reports such as: Working Capital & Inventory reports, Critical Materials Report, Purchase Order Report, SLOBS List Report etc.
S&OP meeting preparation and attendance for Supply Planning and Demand & Supply reconciliation meetings.
Requirements
University Degree, Supply Chain (APICS) qualification advantage
1 - 3 years exposure to broad based procurement.
Working Knowledge of Operations Planning / Supply Chain modelling and optimisation
Experience in managing external parties.
Experience working and interacting with all levels in a business.
