Job Title: Senior Procurement Specialist

Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies: Create and execute strategies to optimize the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for pipe manufacturing.
Supplier management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance.
Procurement process management: Oversee the entire procurement process, including requisition processing, purchase order placement,
tracking, and delivery. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Cost control and budgeting: Develop and manage procurement budgets, analyze costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality or delivery.
Quality control and assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure purchased materials meet specified quality standards and are compliant with relevant regulations and certifications.
Risk management: Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential risks.
Team management: Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, industry trends, and pricing dynamics.
Evaluate supplier proposals, negotiate contracts, and review terms and conditions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as production, engineering, and finance departments, to understand their requirements and ensure timely procurement.
Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and adherence to contractual obligations.
Analyze data and metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
Qualifications and Skills Required
B.Sc / HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related fields
Relevant certifications: Professional certifications such as
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or similar credentials are highly valued and can enhance job prospects. Industry knowledge:
A strong understanding of the pipe manufacturing industry, including knowledge of materials, specifications, regulations, and market dynamics, is beneficial.
Minimum of 5 years proven work experience in procurement or supply chain management roles, preferably within the pipe manufacturing industry or a related manufacturing sector, is typically required.
Experience in managing a team and working with international suppliers may also be desirable.
Proficient in SAGE 200
Proficient in Microsoft office.
