Job Description

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Video Editor to join our creative team.
• The Senior Video Editor will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual storytelling of our projects, bringing creativity, technical expertise, and a keen eye for detail to the editing process.
• The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing engaging and high-quality video content across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Video Editing: Edit raw footage into compelling and visually appealing videos while maintaining the desired tone, style, and messaging. This includes selecting the best shots, trimming clips, adding transitions, visual effects, and graphics.
• Storytelling: Collaborate with the creative team to understand project goals and narratives, ensuring that the edited video content effectively conveys the intended message and emotion.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
• Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing techniques, software, and tools. Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize video files for various distribution channels.
• Collaboration: Work closely with writers, directors, producers, and other team members to ensure a cohesive and impactful final product. Provide creative input and contribute ideas during brainstorming and planning sessions.
• Color Correction and Grading: Enhance the visual aesthetics of videos through color correction and grading, ensuring consistency and mood alignment.
• Sound Design: Edit and mix audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to create an immersive auditory experience.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and provide guidance to junior video editors, offering constructive feedback and fostering their growth and development.
• Asset Management: Organize and maintain an organized library of video and audio assets, ensuring easy accessibility and efficient workflow.
• Quality Control: Review final videos for quality, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives before delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Film Production, Video Editing, Media Studies, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• 3 - 5 years work experience.
• Proven professional experience as a Video Editor, with an impressive portfolio showcasing a range of styles and formats.
• Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and composition.
• Excellent knowledge of video codecs, formats, and compression techniques.
• Experience with motion graphics and visual effects is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
• Attention to detail and a critical eye for quality and consistency.
• A passion for staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
