Job Description

• We are seeking a dynamic and skilled TV Reporter with a passion for storytelling, a knack for script writing, and a captivating voice for voice overs. As a TV Reporter, you will be responsible for researching, scripting, and delivering compelling news stories, features, and reports for our television news program.
• Your ability to write engaging scripts and deliver them with an authoritative and clear voice will be crucial in keeping our audience informed and engaged.

Key Responsibilities
Research and Story Development:

• Stay updated on local, national, and international news events.
• Identify newsworthy topics and develop well-researched and balanced story ideas.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to plan and prioritize news coverage.

Script Writing:

• Write clear, concise, and engaging scripts for news stories, features, and reports.
• Ensure scripts are accurate, factually correct, and adhere to journalistic standards.
• Craft compelling headlines and intros to capture audience attention.

Voice Over:

• Deliver voice overs for news segments with a clear, confident, and professional tone.
• Use appropriate intonation, pacing, and emphasis to convey the message effectively.
• Collaborate with video editors to ensure seamless integration of voice overs with visuals.

On-Air Reporting:

• Conduct on-air interviews, live reports, and stand-ups as required.
• Present news stories confidently and authoritatively while maintaining objectivity and impartiality.
• Engage with the camera and connect with viewers to enhance the viewing experience.

Multimedia Collaboration:

• Coordinate with video editors, producers, and other team members to enhance visual storytelling.
• Provide input on graphics, visuals, and multimedia elements to complement news stories.

Adaptability and Breaking News:

• Be prepared to cover breaking news and deliver updates in real-time.
• Demonstrate flexibility and composure under pressure while maintaining professionalism.

Community Engagement:

• Participate in community events, forums, and panels to establish a rapport with the audience.
• Respond to viewer feedback and inquiries in a respectful and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communication, or related field (preferred).
• 3 - 5 years work experience.
• Proven experience as a TV Reporter or similar role.
• Strong script writing skills with the ability to convey complex information concisely.
• Excellent on-camera presence and voice modulation for voice overs.
• In-depth knowledge of journalistic principles and ethics.
• Familiarity with video editing tools and newsroom software.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Comfortable with live broadcasting and field reporting.
• Portfolio or reel showcasing previous on-air reporting and voice over work (if available).

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
