We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• We are looking for a diligent financial accountant to be responsible for supporting decision-making and overseeing of financial information.
• The candidate will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of an organisation.
• The right candidate will assist in analysing the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and operational decisions.
• The Candidate will report on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
• Tax reporting and inventory records tracking
• Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports.
• Creating KPI reports for the department.
• Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
• Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
• Conducting internal audits such as wage review and others
• Examining financial records to check for accuracy.
• Managing and training staff when necessary

Qualifications and Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
• The Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in the financial field/Auditing in the following subjects should be highlighted as particularly advantageous:
  • Accountancy
  • Finance
  • Business Administration.

Qualities:

• An analytical mind
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
• Commercial and business awareness
• Good communication skills - both written and verbal
• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
• Deadline-orientated and an ability to stick to time constraints.
• Professional qualification will be an added advantage.

Reporting:

• The Candidate will be reporting to the Finance Director.
