We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Maintains setup charts for all sets of roll form tooling.
• Performs tooling setup and line changeover on roll form machine to produce roll form cross sections to print specifications.
• Performs setup/equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain dimensional tolerances of cross sections being produced.
• Performs routine/scheduled maintenance on all roll form line equipment, keeping a log of all maintenance performed.
• Trains other employees in basic roll form operation and support function.
• Reads basic blueprints and sketches to fabricate metal components.
• Sets up and operates machines to produce specified components.
• Makes minor machine adjustments to insure satisfactory production.
• Operates equipment under strict safety requirements.
• Load steel coil onto un-coilers using crane once trained and certified;
• Tighten the un-coiler and cut straps on the coil;
• Guide the steel into processing areas (rolls) using jogging controls;
• Activate the machine using the control panel by selecting the order type, and clear any jam-ups;
• Set up or adjust rolls and conduct a quality inspection to check product conformance;
• Complete all required quality documents, and report issues as required;
• Gather products, strap them into bundles, place bundles on the wagon and apply identification;
• Prepare all required production and safety-related reports and forward to the supervisor

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc in Engineering, Technology or related field
• 3 - 8 years work experience as a machine oerator and technician
• Must have experience with machine repairs and safety management
• Enforcing safety rules and policies in the factory
• Ability to properly use measuring equipment such as tape measures (imperial and metric), calipers, micrometers, etc.;
• Knowledge of hand tools such as tin snips, Allen keys, screwdrivers, hammers, etc.;
• Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing;
• Personal attributes include ethical, open-minded, observant, and tenacious;
• Quick learner, team player, yet self-motivated and capable of meeting deadlines.
