We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Import Manager

Location:  Lagos

Responsibilities
Import Duties:

• Coordinate import/export shipment activities, including customs clearance and documentation
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
• Monitor and analyze import/export data to identify compliance issues and take corrective actions.
• Maintain and update the import/export compliance database.
• Monitor and report on international trade trends and developments.
• Liaise with freight forwarders and other third parties to ensure timely and accurate import/export processes and paperwork.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to imports and exports.
• Develop and maintain relationships with foreign governments, customs authorities, and other relevantorganizations.
• Prepare and submit required reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Carrier and Network Strategy:

• Manage flow of product from various European warehouse to the Nigeria., coordinating product flow and managing the warehouses workflows according to priorities, all within the wider scope of re-organizing Ashluxury logistics.
• Define the types of partners required to enable global shipping of extremely valuable and rare merchandise, leveraging parcel, freight, and white glove services
• Recommend specific partners across freighting/shipping types and geographies
• Develop route and region-specific strategies to reduce cost and increase speed
• Guide contract and pricing discussions
• Allocate all wholesale and retail orders according to priority, managing the inbound and outbound work flows with the inventory team.
• Develop innovations to manage replenishment costs, as well as minimize lead times and days of stock period.
• Assess and improve operational logistical activities related our brands partners.
• Work closely with various brands and inventory planning team to manage and improve products transfers timings.

Logistics operations:

• Ensures operations are run smoothly, efficiently and in-line with customer expectations. Creates, tracks, and improves operation metrics.
• Drives process improvement to enhance productivity, achieve efficiencies and reduce costs / wastage. Leverages existing infrastructure and team to deliver and manage more volume.
• Builds benchmarks, controls, and reduces cost of operations.
• Design process improvements to the freighting/shipping quote process; define a longer-term strategy to streamline this process
• Recommend near-term process improvements to improve tracking of freighting/sshipments in order to create transparency

Role Requirements

• Position Requirements: 5-7 years of experience as a Senior Manager in a similar sized business, preferably in the fashion/logistics industry.
• Relationship management with government agencies like Customs, Nigerian Aviation Handling Company.
• Experience with European fashion manufacturing, international warehousing and omni-channel logistics.
• Self-motivated, with ability to thrive in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics as it relates to the role.
• High-proficiency and deep knowledge of ERP systems implementations.
• Solid experience in e-commerce fulfilment and logistics management within an international D2C luxury environment: operational experience and understand the pressures, dynamics, and critical success factors for e-commerce retailers, warehouse teams, courier partners, and customers
• Deep knowledge of the delivery infrastructure in the UK, and Europe (Middle East and Asia a plus)
• Strategic thinking and solid negotiating skills with ability to negotiate in tough situations
• Thrive in a fast pace environment, excited to join an early stage project and ready to take it from start-up to scale- up
