We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: School Bursar

Location: Lugbe, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, and reporting
• Receive and deposit student fees, donations, and other school funds
• Process payroll and supplier payments in a timely manner
• Oversee cash flow, cashbook balance and maintain ledger/account records
• Prepare financial statements, and budgets and present them to management
• Administer school assets, insurance, procurement, and inventory systems
• Apply for grants/funding, handle audits and ensure compliance standards
• Supervise support staff including accountants, clerks, and storekeepers
• Advise leadership on financial planning, strategy, and viability.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a finance management role
• Expertise with accounting software applications
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/business systems

Expectations:

• Maintain accurate financial records, controls, and supported transactions
• Approve expenditures and ensure spending aligns with approved budgets
• Monitor income/costs, flagging variances requiring investigation
• Timely submission of statutory reports to relevant oversight bodies
• Uphold ethical standards and ensure the integrity of all financial operations
• Continuously improve systems and recommend efficiencies to the management
• Participate in policy making by providing input on financial matters.
