Imo State University Admission into Extrea-Mural and Pre-degree Programmes 2012/2013 Academic Year

Imo State University - Applications are invited qualified candidates for admission into the One Year Extra-Mural Programme of Imo State University Owerri for the 2012/2013 Academic Year.

The Extra-Mural programme is for candidates with O'level deficiencies Seeking a remedy through re-sitting the O'Ievel examination conducted by accredited public examination bodies like WAEC, NECO and NABTEB or UME conducted by JAMB. Subjects to be covered, include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. Biology, Govenment, Literature-in-English, Igbo, Christian Religious Knowledge, Economics, Geography. Agricultural Science, French, History, Commerce and Principles of Account, Candidates will be required to register, on their own with the public examination body of their choice.
The Pre-degree Programme is for candidates who already possess University admission requirements and seek to undergo a one year Pre-degree study preparatoy to subsequent admission into the 100 level of Degree Programme of Imo State University. Pre-Degree Programme will be available in Sciences, Business, Social Soience, Humanities, Education, Engineering and Law.

Qualification

Cendidates for Extra-Mural studies must have attempted SSCE/NABTEB with evidence of the subjects failed for which remedy is sought.
Candidates for Pre-Degree must possess at least (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings at the SSCB or GCE (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or equivalent qualifications. For the Sciences, Engineering, Business, Social Sciences, Law and Education, the five credits must include English Language and Mathematics, while for the Humanities and Education (Humanities) the five credits must include English Language
Pre-degree candidates are expected to have taken the 2012 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) by JAMB and scored at least 180 in the UTMB. They will also be requited to take and pass the 2013 UTME with a JAMB pass mark.
Candidates should indicate their first of University in the UTME and enclose the photocopy of their UTME result notification slip when submitting their completed application form.

Method of Application
Candidates are to purchase the scratch card at the cost of N6,500 (Six Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only at the IMSU Microfinance Bank on Campus.

They should upload the necessary infomation on the University website www.imsu.edu.ng and return all completed forms to the Director, Centre for Exrtra-Mural Pre-Degree Studies (CEPS) Imo State University, Owerri.
