Job Description

• We are looking to recruit a competitive an experienced Design/Solution Specialist to join our innovative, fast-growing company.
• Ultimately, you will be a member of our brilliant engineering team, designing new cutting-edge solutions/products.
• To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD software, with strong attention to detail and a creative flair. It’s also important that you have rock-solid project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage project development from start to finish.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with executive management and other relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are well executed within the agreed date of delivery and do not attract fault calls & within the approved Budget.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Ensure that all fault calls on ongoing projects are accepted with customer empathy and attended to as a matter of urgency.
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
• Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
• Ensure all control measures/safety effects provided on site are used and maintained as allocated.
• Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
• Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
• Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools to effectively track project milestones and deliverables.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and documentation.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope and identify potential crises.
• Ensure that all work tools provided are well used, kept safe and accounted for
• Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Submit reports during and after the completion of Projects.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
• Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
• And all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Degree in Computer Engineering, or a similar field with Certification in Computing Hardware
• Previous experience as a Design & Solution Engineer or a similar role
• Good understanding of safety standards and the environmental impact of a design
• Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
• Great computational ability
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Product-focused creative thinking
• In-depth knowledge of industry design principles
• Strong working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) or engineering software is a plus
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Good project management skills
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Effective oral and written communication
• Great leadership skills.
