Piping Engineer (PIE) at Met T&S

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Piping Engineer (PIE)

Reference No: 2006011
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Project: Rehabilitation & Revamping of Port Harcourt Refinery
Hours / Rotation: Monday to Saturday; No Rotation

Duties and Responsibilities

• To collaborate in order to update the Engineering estimating criteria, taking into account the historical data of previous projects.
• To assist the Project Leader and the Head of Department in the preparation of the execution strategy of the project, assuring its application throughout the duration of the project.
• To share the activities among the assigned team and ensuring that proper information are available at any stage of the work.
• To assist the subcontractor personnel on developing their activities.
• To provide technical assistance to project team to solve possible discrepancies in drawings, specifications etc.
• To keep subcontractor team fully informed of applicable codes, standards etc.
• To ensure adequate flow of information within the drafting team and uniformity in design and drafting activities.
• To require the proper authorization for any exception or modifications to the applicable procedures or to contract requirements, as set forth in the project coordination procedure.
• To ensure that all comments are consistent and are included in the drawings according to the applicable procedure.
• To review,issue and follow-up the General Notes on drawings, typical piping details, plot plan and scope layout study for the specific job.
• To prepare and update the drawing index.
• To assure that the 3D model answers to satisfactory design, practice, and participate in internal and Client model review.
• To provide ‘feedback’ to the Project Leader concerning problems arising from application of standard methods and work instructions.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications:

• University Degree or equivalent Study background.

Experience:

• Management experience for an EPC company in for, at least, two plants as Piping Engineer.
• Plants for the gas treatment

• Attention to detail, management skills
• Team-oriented skills,  self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution
