Job Summary
As a waitress in a hotel, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent dining experiences for our guests.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that guests receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service in our restaurant or dining areas.
You will be an integral part of creating a positive and memorable atmosphere for our guests during their stay.
Responsibilities
Customer Service: Greet and seat guests in a courteous and welcoming manner, addressing any inquiries they might have about the menu or special requests.
Order Taking: Take accurate food and drink orders from guests, ensuring that any dietary preferences, allergies, or special instructions are noted and communicated to the kitchen staff.
Order Delivery: Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, maintaining a professional demeanor while interacting with guests during the delivery process.
Upselling: Provide recommendations to guests regarding menu items and upsell additional dishes, appetizers, desserts, or beverages to enhance their dining experience.
Table Maintenance: Set up tables, ensuring they are clean and properly arranged with utensils, glassware, and napkins. Clear and reset tables efficiently after guests have finished their meals.
Collaboration: Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and to address any discrepancies or modifications required by guests.
Billing and Payments: Present bills to guests, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, and process payments efficiently.
Feedback Handling: Actively listen to guest feedback and address any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring that guests leave with a positive impression.
Hygiene and Cleanliness: Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards, maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Follow food safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to answer guest inquiries accurately.
Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
Event Support: Assist with special events, banquets, and private parties by providing service as required.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess an HND qualification with 1 - 2 years work experience.
Previous Experience: Prior experience as a waitress, preferably in a hotel or fine dining restaurant, is beneficial.
Customer-Focused: Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Accurate order taking, precise delivery, and proper table setup and maintenance.
Team Player: Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve collective goals.
Adaptability: Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Upselling Skills: Ability to suggest and promote menu items effectively to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
Stamina: Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and carry trays or dishes when necessary.

Salary
N50,000 / month.
