Job Title: Head of Credit Loan

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Responsibilities

• Credit Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement credit strategies and plans that align with the organization's goals and risk tolerance.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants, analyze financial data, and assess potential risks associated with loans.
• Loan Approval and Review: Make informed decisions on loan approvals, set appropriate terms and conditions, and ensure compliance with lending policies.
• Credit Policy Development: Establish and update credit policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective lending practices.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of credit analysts, loan officers, and support staff, ensuring they follow best practices and achieve targets.
• Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of the loan portfolio, track repayment schedules, and take appropriate actions on delinquent accounts.
• Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all lending activities adhere to relevant Nigerian financial regulations, legal requirements, and compliance standards.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as risk management, legal, and compliance to ensure a holistic approach to credit lending.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to evaluate lending trends, portfolio performance, and customer behavior, making data-driven decisions.
• Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on the credit portfolio's performance, risk exposure, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; Extensive experience in credit management, loan origination, and risk assessment within the Nigerian financial industry.
• More than 5 years Loan experience
• In-depth understanding of local regulatory and compliance requirements for lending activities in Nigeria.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and customers.
• Knowledge of financial technology (fintech) trends and tools for enhancing credit processes.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding credit portfolio targets.
