Job Title: Supply Chain and Pharmacy Specialist
Location: Makurdi Benue
Overview
The Pharmacy and Supply Chain Specialist will plan and implement the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care, pharmacovigilance and DSD services as well as the implementation of an efficient health commodity logistics system for the organization in accordance with donor requirements and stipulated guidelines of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Job Description
Provide technical support to service delivery facilities in ensuring best practices in patient care, ARV drugs and laboratory commodity management
Serves as a link between the Supply Chain team and the service delivery points in the supply of ARVs/Cotrimoxazole/isoniazid (other drugs) and laboratory commodities supplied by the later.
Ensure timely receipt and review of ARVs/OI drugs, laboratory reagents and rapid test kits LMIS reports/ADR reports from SDPs
Liaise with LMCU for data validation, quantification and forecasting to reduce stock-outs and eliminate wastage.
Conduct monitoring and support visits to assigned service delivery facilities to ensure smooth implementation of supply chain and pharmacy activities
Provide technical support for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of CPART, CARG and other differentiated service Delivery(DSD) models in assigned SDFs
Responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of PrEP for general Population in assigned SDFs
Support capacity building and training of pharmacy and non-pharmacy staff in assigned SDFs
Assure a systematic identification, prevention, assessment, and resolution of medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome; promote, through criteria based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care
Support adequate mentorship to pharmacy staff at SDFs in counselling patients on adherence, proper medication administration, and storage
Work with SDFs to perform patient medication history interviews, clinical medication reviews, and formulation of pharmaceutical care plans including provision of expert advice to Medical Doctors, Nurses and other health care professionals
Spearheading all aspects of supply chain management, including inventory management and contributing vital support to KP programming.
Provide professional expertise and advice on the proper storage of drugs and other consumables for OVC programming.
Attend PSM/TWG meeting with all stakeholders and Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Advanced Degree or equivalent experience in Public Health, Pharmacy; masters-level degree preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
Demonstrated experience working with USAID/PEPFAR programs and strong familiarity with USAID reporting requirements.
2+ years’ experience in management, operational and technical expertise with a preference in HIV program implementation
Required Abilities/Skills:
Experience in managing Supply Chain processes and information flows.
Work experience in logistics, preferably in an NGO setting.
Problem solving ability. Quick learner with practical, precise approach.
