Value Re-orientation for Community Enhancement (VARCE) is a non-governmental and non-profit making organisation, working on children, women, and youth development. It was established in January 2007 and was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in March 2015, with the primary aim of contributing to sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond. It aims at building great minds that will build great nations through value re-orientation, self-reliance, community transformation, and good governance. Our critical focus is to alleviate ignorance, empower lives, and harness resources for community transformation. It is noteworthy that the organization has been working to promote girl child education in Nigeria for over 10 years.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Subject Teacher

Job Description

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the learning centre.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities.
• Participate in the department, learning centre, and parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classrooms for class activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
