RS Hunter Limited is recruiting to fill the below position:

Job Title: IT Support Analyst

Industry: Aviation

Location: Lagos

Role Purpose:

To provide on-site and telephonic software and hardware support for the company’s sites and offices in Nigeria.
To work closely with the company’s IT in the UK to ensure that local IT processes are consistent with HO policy.

Key Responsibilities:

Validate/filter requests for change, reject & reroute incorrect requests
Raise IT requests for New Starters, Internal Transfers and Leavers
Cascade relevant IT communications (Verb/SDD) to local users
Act as a medium between assigned department(s) and IT
Keep staff abreast of IT Service Developments, IT Processes and forthcoming activities Managing Static TA numbers on both systems
Onsite coordinator of IT outages and supplier visits
Ensure downtime is minimised by understanding the Reservations Systems and being able to troubleshoot system issues
Managing Static TA numbers on both systems
Work with HO IT to provide on-site support for all Citrix applications e.g.: Randi, Aires scanner, Outlook, Shares, Babel, Essbase, Vital, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AS400, Avenue, Agent Impact
Backup all data on Windows 2000 servers This includes each users e-mail, personal data and all shared folders
Changing both Novell and NT tapes on a daily basis
Assisting restoring any data that has been lost or corrupted
Using the Arcserve software package to achieve this
Work closely with the IT Purchasing Team
Ensure spend is justified
Sourcing quotes for new equipment and repair of faulty equipment
Sourcing and facilitation of new equipments when needed
Sourcing and facilitation of parts to repair equipment
Manage some local IT contracts (Mobile phones, BlackBerry’s)
Fault finding and fixing (in conjunction with IT) any HARDWARE or SOFTWARE issues
Reloading a full image when operating system is faulty
Reading patching schedules
Patching of data lines on the patch panel
Moving phone extensions
Updating patching schedules
Assigning access to the building by configuring access cards
Full understanding of how UPS and Generator systems work
Bypassing the system and forcing a manual start
Maintaining local UPS support contract and relationship
Ensuring that the Communications Room is cleaned regularly and remains tidy

Skills:

Ability to communicate well at all levels
Excellent Excel and Word skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange / Outlook
Knowledge of Citrix
Basic Telecoms knowledge

Qualifications & Experience (min level of requirement)

4-5 years experience in the IT industry
A+ Certification
Good understanding of LAN and WAN networking
MCSE Certification
Previous experience as a Outlook/Notes administrator
Knowledge of the Shares system (not essential)
Knowledge of ITIL processes (qualification preferable but not essential)
Knowledge of Airline Common Use Terminals (beneficial)
