OjirehPrime is a digital bank that offers more transparent and customer-focused banking services with access to loans, innovative savings product and free credit card delivered to your doorstep. We started as an e-commerce company in Nov 2016 from a faulty samsung tab whose battery lasted only 30mins. One Year later we realised that only 4% of payments were made using the debit card for fear of falling victim to card frauds. 96% of payments were made via direct fund transfers. To address this - in 2018, we launched Ojirehprime card which is a prepaid card that is not connected to your bank account and within two years, we grew organically over 40,000 users.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Software - Developer (PHP Major)

Responsibilities

• Develop, record, and maintain cutting-edge web-based PHP applications on portal plus premium service platforms.
• Build innovative, state-of-the-art applications and collaborate with the User Interface & Experience (UI/UX) team
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that meets industry standards.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure software quality and performance.
• Participate in code reviews to provide constructive feedback and ensure adherence to coding best practices.
• Helping maintain our web application tech stack: Laravel PHP, VueJs, MariaDB, Redis, Kafka and whatever else is required to get the job done.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues reported by users or discovered during testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software products within project timelines.
• Coordinate with co-developers and keep project manager well informed of the status of development effort and serve as liaison between development staff and project manager.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Laravel 7 version and above PHP Framework working experience.
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries such as HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, VueJS and jQuery
• Experience developing SaaS-style applications and/or public APIs.
• Hands-on experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, REST API design
• Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Software testing (PHP Unit, PHP Spec, Behat). MySQL profiling and query optimization
• Experience in Financial Services is an advantage.
• Experience with other programming languages and technologies, such as Java, Golang or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), is a plus.
