Job Title: IT Personnel (Technical Support)
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
You will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the information technology infrastructure within our company.
This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of network systems, telecom equipment, and related software applications to support the organization's telecommunication services.
You will also collaborate with other teams to optimize network performance and resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain telecommunications networks, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Troubleshoot and resolve networkrelated issues, such as connectivity problems, latency, and packet loss.
Perform regular updates and patches to network devices to ensure security and performance.
Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, such as PBX systems, VoIP phones, and video conferencing tools.
Collaborate with vendors to procure and upgrade telecom hardware and software.
Administer servers, including email, DNS, and DHCP servers, to ensure reliable service delivery.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings for telecomrelated applications.
Implement backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical telecom data.
Test and execute data recovery procedures in case of system failures or data loss.
Monitor network security to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other cyber threats.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR or FCC regulations.
Provide technical support to endusers, assisting with telecomrelated issues and inquiries.
Document and maintain a knowledge base of common telecomrelated problems and solutions.
Analyze network and system performance data to identify areas for improvement.
Implement solutions to optimize network speed, reliability, and efficiency.
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, equipment inventory, and telecom procedures.
Create and update network diagrams and schematics.
Collaborate with other IT teams and departments within the organisation to integrate telecom services with other IT systems, such as CRM or ERP systems.
Work with telecom vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and resolve servicerelated issues.
Provide training to employees on using telecom equipment and applications effectively and securely.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Knowledge of telecommunications technologies, including VoIP, SIP, and telecom protocols.
Proficiency in network administration and security practices.
Experience with telecom hardware and software, including PBX systems and VoIP technologies.
Familiarity with industryspecific regulations and compliance requirements.
