We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Remote

Job Description

  • We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational institution.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English literature and language, and a genuine desire to inspire and educate students.
  • The English Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging and effective learning environment, delivering high-quality lessons, and helping students develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Design and develop a comprehensive English curriculum that aligns with educational standards and objectives.
  • Lesson Planning: Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and respectful classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, ensuring discipline and a safe environment.
  • Instruction: Deliver engaging and informative English lessons that foster students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Assessment: Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, and examinations to evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Individualized Support: Identify and address the unique learning needs of students, offering extra help and support as required.
  • Parent-Teacher Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and address any concerns.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest teaching methods, educational technologies, and literature trends to continuously improve teaching skills.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Foster a classroom environment that promotes diversity and inclusivity, respecting and valuing cultural differences among students.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Encourage student participation in English-related extracurricular activities, such as book clubs, literary events, or writing competitions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other relevant student information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 3 - 5 years relevant work experience.
  • Teaching certification or license (if required by local regulations).
  • Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse student needs.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and software.
  • Passion for literature and language education.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to use a computer and online platforms such as google meet and zoom is complusary.

Working Conditions:

  • Fully Remote
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work for school events or meetings.
  • Collaborative work environment with other educators and staff.
  • Classroom setting with access to teaching resources and materials.

Salary
N60,000 - N80,000 Monthly.
