Job Title: Pre-Teen Teacher
Location: Remote
Job Summary
The Pre-Teen Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for pre-teen students, typically between the ages of 7and 12.
This role involves designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, fostering positive relationships with students, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support the holistic development of pre-teen learners.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development:
Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that aligns with educational standards and the specific needs of pre-teen students.
Create lesson plans, activities, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Instruction and Classroom Management:
Deliver effective instruction that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.
Maintain a well-organized and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Manage classroom behavior and implement discipline strategies when necessary, always promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Use a variety of assessment tools to evaluate student understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
Student Engagement and Support:
Foster a love for learning by making lessons relevant and engaging.
Offer academic and emotional support to pre-teen students to help them navigate the challenges of this developmental stage.
Parent Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and address any concerns.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with current educational trends, teaching methodologies, and best practices.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and best practices.
Attend staff meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom.
Comply with school policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
3 - 5 years relevant work experience.
Teaching certification or license as required by the state or educational institution.
Previous teaching experience, especially with pre-teen students, is preferred.
Strong knowledge of child development and pedagogy for pre-teen learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with pre-teen students.
Organizational skills and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
Proficiency in educational technology and classroom management software is a plus.
Salary
N60,000 - N80,000 Monthly.
