Rapid Rentals Limited is a Nigerian owned company that has been providing alternative power solutions since 2010. Rapid Rentals rent generator sets ranging from 60KVA to 1000KVA generators.
As a Maintenance Engineer at Rapid Rentals, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of our generator sets. Your responsibilities will include performing repairs and maintenance overseeing generator installations, conducting inspections, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of our generators.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Generate reports on generator performance, maintenance activities, and recommended improvements.
Provide on-call support and respond to emergency generator issues promptly.
Conduct emergency repairs and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with the industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment during all generator-related activities
Collaboration with other departments and team members to ensure seamless integration of generators into client projects.
Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and suppliers regarding generator-related matters.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership of all the generator fleet
Carry out initial assessment of assets and present a condition report to the Operations and Logistics Manager on weekly basis.
Recommend, oversee and carry out repairs as required.
Create and maintain a proper log for signing generator sets in and out from jobs, certifying their condition before the next job.
Ensure generator sets have maximum “uptime” and availability for work by keeping close control over servicing, repairs, adjustments (screws, bolts, belts, battery terminals, doors, exhausts, etc.), and top-up (of lubricant, grease, coolant, etc.).
Carry out daily inspection of generator sets and oversee daily “warming”.
Debrief field technicians following the usage of each generator set to discover any issues or incidents.
Remove from service any asset found to be defective and commence immediate repair.
Ensure all generator sets are serviced every 200hrs (max 240) intervals.
Keep separate service and repair records of each generator/truck
Maintain a spare parts inventory and handle parts orders in conjunction with your supervisor.
Keep accurate records of all test, checks, and observations as required.
Attend to machine breakdowns and solve/diagnose any mechanical/electrical failures.
Key Performance Indicators
Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, minimizing downtime.
Respond to emergency generator issues promptly to minimize disruption.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
Measure client satisfaction with generator performance and maintenance services.
Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns
Ability to diagnose and resolve generator issues effectively.
Job Requirements
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Proficient in generator maintenance and repair techniques capable of working on generators up to 1000KVA.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in fault-finding and servicing of Cummins diesel engines and generator sets.
Technical understanding of synchronized control systems.
Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Excellent communication skills with a flexible, adaptable approach to working.
Ability to work accurately under pressure without supervision and as a team
Ability to interact well with superiors, customers and colleagues professionally
Ability to drive with a valid driver’s license
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 / Month.
