Job Title: Dispatch Substation Officer (Engineer) / Linesman

Location: Lagos-Ibadan Expressay, Ogun

Job Description

• The ideal candidate shall be responsible to the project manager
• Correctly implement the dispatch plan and superior instructions
• Direct the operation of the power station and the power grid, and ensure the safe and economic operation of the equipment
• Direct the handling of system accidents and adjust the operation mode in time to ensure the safe operation of the system
• Complete various voltage and load reports as required
• Implement safe production, eliminate false orders, false orders, misjudgments, and misanalysis;
• Supervise the safe and reasonable use of electricity by electricity users;
• Work out and report the shutdown and maintenance plan of equipment and lines within the dispatch range;
• According to the requirements of the regulations, have the right to approve the temporary maintenance of equipment within the jurisdiction;
• Responsible for organizing personnel to inspect and maintain the lines of high-voltage overhead lines, high-voltage cables, towers, and infrastructure from the power station to each power user, to ensure the safety and reliability of transmission lines and equipment, and to ensure the normal power supply of the power station
• The input, withdrawal, and value changes of relay protection and safety automatic devices under the permission of jurisdiction;
• Coordinate the handling of grid accidents within its jurisdiction;
• Make records of major changes in the power grid, handling of accidents and abnormalities in the power grid, and report to the relevant leaders of the company;
• Participate in the determination of the power station's external line expansion and extension of the technical plan, and supervise its construction;
• Responsible for drafting the operation specifications and precautions of related equipment to avoid safety accidents;
• Develop training plans to train subordinate employees to improve their technical level;
• Responsible for communicating and coordinating with other departments and company leaders on the work of this post

Requirements

• Qualified applicants must possess a Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable tertiary institution.
• Professional qualifications in the engineering sector e.g COREN will be an added advantage.
• Substantial work experience in a similar role, in a power distribution company is important.
