Role Overview
NUTM invites applications from highly qualified and dedicated individuals to teach undergraduate courses in Technology.
As an adjunct faculty member, you will teach undergraduate courses and have the unique opportunity to shape the future of technology education in Nigeria while working with talented students and a dedicated faculty community. This position is part-time and offers flexibility in scheduling.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Course development and instruction:
Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, labs, and seminars in various technology-related subjects.
Assist in developing and enhancing the technology curriculum, ensuring its alignment with industry standards and emerging trends.
Contribute to the creation of new courses and instructional materials that promote student-centered learning and experiential education.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student success.
Mentorship and student evaluation:
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students pursuing technology majors, offering assistance with course selection, career planning, and professional development opportunities.
Develop and administer assessments, exams, and projects to evaluate students' understanding of course materials.
Provide timely feedback and grades to students, offering constructive criticism to facilitate their growth and improvement.
Research and departmental duties:
Engage in research, scholarly activities, and professional development to stay current with advancements in the field of technology.
Publish research findings in reputable journals, present at conferences, and actively participate in relevant academic communities.
Contribute to the overall mission and goals of the university by participating in departmental meetings, committees, and other administrative duties.
Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary projects, foster a culture of innovation, and contribute to the university's academic reputation.
Preferred Candidate
A Doctoral or Master's Degrees in a relevant technology field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering) from an accredited institution is required.
Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to deliver effective and engaging instruction using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
Substantial professional experience in the technology sector, such as software development, systems administration, cybersecurity, or data analytics. Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
