Vacancy for the Post of Bursar
The post of Bursar at Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Delta State will be vacant on 9th December,2012.
Consequent on the above, applications are invited from suitably qualified Candidates for the post of Bursar, Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Delta State.

1.0 The Candidate

The Bursar is a Principal Officer/Chief Financial Officer and is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of the finances of the Polytechnic.

2.0 Qualifications
The Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting plus membership of a recognized professional body preferably ICAN or ANAN. In addition, the Candidate must:

(i) be a person of proven integrity.
(ii) be intellectually and professionally sound in the rules and regulations of the Polytechnic system.
(iii) must have worked in recognized tertiary institution(s) and attained the rank of at least Principal Accountant.
(iv) be vast in public service rules and financial regulations and is expected to give sound professional advice to the Chief Executive.
(v) be able to give professional leadership as well as provide on the job proficiency training to the Bursary Staff.

3.0 Required Experience

The Candidate must have 18 years cognate experience, six of which should be in management position in a tertiary institution.

4.0 Age Limit

The applicant must not be above 55 years at the point of assumption of duty.

5.0 Computer Literacy

The applicant must show evidence of Computer literacy and demonstrable ability to use Accounting softwares for Accounting best practices and effective service delivery.

6.0 Health Condition

The Applicant must enjoy good health that will be able to cope with the rigours of the office of Bursar.

7.0 Salary

The salary is consolidated and is applicable to what is obtainable in the Polytechnic system.

8.0 Duration of appointment

The duration of appointment shall be such as will be indicated in the instrument of appointment.
