Job Title: Security Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Description 

• We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented hotel security officer who will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and hotel property. They must maintain a visible presence and respond quickly to any security issues or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the hotel premises, including entrances, exits, and public areas, to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities
• Respond quickly to any security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies, fires, and natural disasters
• Maintain a visible presence in the hotel to deter criminal activity and provide a sense of security to guests and employees
• Conduct regular patrols of the hotel to ensure that all areas are secure and free from hazards
• Investigate any security incidents or suspicious activities and report them to management and/or law enforcement as appropriate
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and respond to security threats
• Provide assistance to guests and employees as needed, including escorting guests to their rooms or providing directions
• Enforce hotel policies and procedures related to security, including access control and guest identification
• Maintain accurate records of all security incidents and activities

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in criminal justice or a related field preferred
• Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred
• Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods of time

Working Conditions

• The hotel security officer will work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the situation. They may be required to stand or walk for extended periods of time and may need to respond quickly to emergency situations. The position may require working overtime during peak periods.
