Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Job Title: Laundry Assistant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Department: Laundry Services

Summary of Responsibilities

• Efficiently handling and processing laundry tasks within the hospital.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary healthcare environment by ensuring that all linens, garments, and other textiles are properly cleaned and sterilized.
• Responsible for ensuring that adequate stocks of clean linen are maintained throughout the hospital by restocking and delivering clean linen to all departments as required. 

Job Requirements

• WASSCE/SSCE or equivalent
• Previous experience in laundry or housekeeping roles, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of laundry equipment and proper laundry procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags and equipment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
• Availability to work after hours, weekends and holidays if required to ensure continuous laundry operations.
