Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Skilled and professional staff form the foundation of a well-run hospital. The hospital will provide up-to-date facilities and services allowing our medical professionals to work efficiently and effectively.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of information technology systems and services within the healthcare facility.
• This position involves managing a team of IT professionals and overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s IT infrastructure, security, and software applications.
• Plays a crucial role in supporting patient care through the effective management of IT resources and infrastructure, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of patient data, and optimizing technology to meet the hospital’s evolving needs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., I.S.H.Med, CISSP, CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician) is a plus.
• Proven experience in IT management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific software applications and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and the ability to motivate and create a productive work environment
• Ability to engage various stakeholders and must be able to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Leadership skills – 
• Problem solving ability in order to prioritize work based on need, manage IT metrics and budgets, through the interpretation of data, evaluation of all alternatives, and considering top priorities.
• People Development – identify areas for improvement and provide staff with the training and development opportunities needed.
• Time Management – setting goals, planning, prioritizing and scheduling the work.
