We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Financial Accountant

Role Brief

• Strategically plan and manage accounts payable process, tax, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and total compliance to the company’s policies, tax and other relevant laws.

Requirements
What you can expect to be doing:

• Own and manage the payable process, ensuring the appropriate booking of purchase orders and invoices
• Own and manage accruals and prepayment
• Take ownership of intercompany accounting and reconciliation
• Meet productivity, accuracy, and timeline targets
• Perform assigned tasks relating to month end and year end reporting to ensure timelines are met
• Process VAT and WHT documents for monthly computation and filling
• Support the enhancement and handling of procedures and policies concerning general accounting tasks
• Provide supporting documentation for audit and answer audit queries
• Comply with laws, regulations, and other country requirements.
• Post journals and vendor invoices appropriately
• Receive, verify and reconcile vendor invoices
• Generate and keep records of schedules and support documents needed for VAT and WHT computation and remittance
• Ensure accrual and prepayment schedules are promptly updated and reconciled
• Post intercompany invoices and perform intercompany reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the Line Manager

Requirements
What we are looking for:

• A Degree in Accounting or relevant field
• Member of an accounting professional body ICAN/ACCA
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, Nigerian tax law, and general ledger
• Knowledge of finance and operations systems
• Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to renewable energy industry
• Attention to details
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding accounting best practices
• Good reconciliation and analytical skills
• Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• High ethical standards, integrity and positive attitude
