Senior Android Engineer at LemFi (Formerly Lemonade Finance)

LemFi (YC S21) is building the neobank for African diaspora in North America & Europe. We provide our users with a multi-currency account that allows them to hold, send, and receive money from Africa in any currency for their business and personal banking needs. We are a fast-paced startup with entities in the UK, USA, Canada and Nigeria and you would be required to familiarize yourself with necessary statutory and regulatory requirements in these locations.

• We are looking for an Android Engineer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits. This Android engineer will work closely with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications.
• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with internal and external APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Review and debug code
• Possess great leadership skills
• Document development phases and monitor systems
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven software development experience and Android skills development
• Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Have published at least one Android app to the Play Store
• Experience with Android SDK
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience with Kotlin for building Android applications
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
• Collaboration with designers and other engineers in app development.
