Job Title: Production Manager

Location: Mushin, Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee and manage the manufacturing processes within our company.
• The Production Manager will be responsible for optimizing production efficiency, ensuring product quality, and leading a team of production staff to meet production targets.
• This role plays a crucial part in achieving our company's operational and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
• Create and maintain production schedules in the factory, ensuring on-time delivery of products.
• Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures to maintain product quality and consistency.
• Identify and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
• Manage production staff
• Oversee resource allocation, including labour, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Continuously analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Lead and participate in process improvement projects to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Monitor and control inventory levels to minimize excess or shortage of raw materials and finished products.
• Implement inventory tracking systems to improve accuracy and reduce waste.
• Monitor production expenses and develop cost-effective strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
• Report regularly to senior management on production performance and key metrics.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency within the production department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management) with a minimum of 5 years experience in the same role.
• Proven experience in production management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical reasoning and decision-making abilities.
• Strong knowledge and use of Excel is a must.
• Agile and lean certifications are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Experience in maintenance is an advantage
• The ability to apply data analytics in the interpretation of production reports to aid continuous improvement strategies is highly desirable.
