Job Summary
The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of SAP implementation projects within an organization.
This role is vital in ensuring that the implementation of the SAP system meets the business needs, is delivered on time, and is within budget.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Define the scope and direction of the SAP implementation program. This includes understanding the business needs, defining objectives, and aligning the SAP implementation with the organization’s strategic goals.
Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including senior executives, to ensure their requirements are met and to gain their support and buy-in.
Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources including staffing, budgeting, and vendor relationships to ensure successful delivery.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Program Governance: Establish and oversee program governance structures and processes to ensure the program remains on track.
Project Management: Oversee the project managers and teams involved in the different sub-projects within the SAP implementation program.
Change Management: Ensure that change management strategies are in place to facilitate the transition to the new SAP system, including training, communication, and support processes.
Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor performance metrics to evaluate the success of the implementation and ensure the delivery of desired outcomes.
Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants, ensuring their deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements post-implementation to maximize the value derived from the SAP system.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field. A Master's or advanced degree is a plus.
10+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
10+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
3+ years of experience with full product lifecycle with understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support that lifecycle.
Required Skills / Competencies:
Proven experience in program or project management within the power, energy, and public sector
Experience in SAP ERP Software Implementation/Upgrade
Extensive experience in SAP implementation projects and Business Transformation preferably in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of SAP products, architectures, and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex, multi-faceted programs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with various stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor diverse teams
Understanding of change management principles and methodologies.
Understanding of the organization's business model, processes, and goals.
Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
Ability to identify issues and create solutions in a dynamic environment.
Proven skills in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Knowledge of change management principles and practices to ensure smooth transitions
Knowledge of energy, power & public sector technologies and regulations.
