Role Positioning and Objectives
You will need to drive/lead the start-up activities of site/module/initiative start-up team(s) and serve as coach to site/module operations resources in execution of small change/small projects.
What You Will be Accountable For
To support the Plant CBN by:
Execution of GSUM on the project he/she is Start-up leader, resulting in improved:
Plant unplanned downtime associated with all change and overall plant process reliability
Productivity & speed to deliver all change
Performance achieving project & initiative success criteria (including but not limited to: VSU)
For Initiatives execution, engages typically at “Definition”/“Strategy & Commitment” Phase:
Charters the initiative start-up team(s)
Accountable for all tasks being completed on time
Owns the staffing and resourcing assignments/start-up support
Owns reporting results and tracking for the Start-Up Work Process through to the end of Initial Verification and for the overall completion of project deliverables to close out (month 2 after SOP)
Own Start-up charter and population/alignment of roles/responsibilities for the Start-Up Work Process phases and project deliverables.
Owns identifying how many systems you have and what is included within each system to prepare required documentation and support the start up
Establish communication plan for start-up team
Initiate and lead manufacturing readiness & resulting action plan (Current Operations Assessment and initiative deliverables)
Coordinate plant-level risk mitigation plan with external partners and operations and reflect in start-up plan
Operations ownership of Pre and Post Start-Up list mitigation plans and the operations single point of contact for issue resolution and alignment
Own plant-level start-up team/operations safety plan for project/initiative after construction turnover
Own updates for masterplan, in process measures and output measures to the Site Change Masterplan and Dashboard over the life of their project(s)
As required, develop and give presentations to various audiences and levels in the organization as the “voice of the project” giving updates, projects reviews, etc.
Align with plant-level leadership (Engineering, Operations) on the project-specific start-up success criteria
Supports the quarterly Site GSUM SWP Health Check & IM Pillar Annual Assessment
Supports GSUM training sessions, both formal classroom training and informal one to one/small group training
Material Resource Planning of class SMD A, B, C spares on a weekly basis
Recommendation of Spares for sale to other plants
Analysis of Spare usage to prevent Out Of Stock and keeping Inventory levels healthy
Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or related field
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in FMCG industry
Knowledge of cigarette making processes and experience of running these machines in a production environment or experience in supporting launch/delivery/start-up of cigarette making/packing machines would be an added advantage
Experience in using MS Office Package; SAP working experience would be a plus
A high degree of inter-personal skill will be required to establish credentials and to pass on knowledge and experience to newer team members.
